“Everyone has at least one book inside their heart.”
Is what my Godmother always told me… and here I am. Smack in the middle of all of this creative energy. My dream, my imagination. As I create for myself, for my children, their future children… I am blessed to have been raised in a creative family and supported by my beautiful Mom and Dad who inspired me with their love and strength, and then later encouraged to get myself out there and take more risks with my work by my two amazing sons and my husband. Creating has always been a big part of my life… creating art, imagining elaborate stories, playing pretend… writing stories and poetry.
I hope that all who read my books and enjoy the illustrations know that they were born inside of my heart. I believe that every book should have a message that sticks with you and inspires the reader to come out on the other side with the truth that’s inside them and with the belief that they can help contribute to making God’s world a better place.
I grew up inspired to love art, use my imagination and appreciate the beauty of the world around me. I learned about true strength of character from the heroes in my family who raised me. As a young child, I learned from my sweet Mama that art is everywhere. I learned to explore, play and create stories by listening to my imagination. I drew, painted and created all kinds of things, and most importantly learned to listen and learn from the family stories and life lessons shared by mom, dad, grandmas, grandpas, aunties and uncles… along the way. I learned to appreciate the beauty in all people and in the world that God created.

Shannon’s story is filled with warmth, humor, and life lessons that help children see that even when things don’t go as planned, the best ideas can bloom from life’s surprises.
Got this book for my 4 year old and she absolutely loves it. Its such a sweet story of spreading kindness in a way young kids can understand. It also touches on God and ties it all back to him. Which I love.
Manders-
Bug Hug, written and illustrated by Jake Buck, is a soothing story for children who are ready to sleep, but no matter how hard they try, sleep just won’t come. Every parent is familiar with the challenge of putting kids to bed. This book is a great help for these parents because it shows kids that they are not alone and help is a lot closer than they think. The story is about a little bug who needs help because nothing she tries seems to work. She tries to follow Lady Ladybug’s advice and dance in the moonlight, but sleep still avoids her. She listens to the spider’s music as it plucks on the strings of its web, but that doesn’t do the trick either. Finally, the simplest solution dawns on Bug, and sweet dreams arrive. What could be simpler and sweeter than a mother’s hug? Read the book and see for yourself.
